Former Tennessee Volunteers football coach Butch Jones is selling his Knoxville, TN, mansion for $3,795,000.
The luxury estate was built in 2008 by local custom construction firm Schmid and Rhodes. Jones purchased it for $3,212,500 in March 2013, shortly after being introduced as the Vols new coach. He scored a deal on the place—it had been on the market for $4.2 million.
The 11,476-square-foot mansion sits on over 4 acres and has six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. Located just off the Tennessee River, the home sits in a gated enclave about 10 miles southwest of Neyland Stadium.
Formal and elegant, the home sits at the end of circular brick driveway with a fountain. The stately stone and brick manse includes a range of high-end amenities and features.
Gleaming hardwood floors run throughout much of the first floor, and high ceilings add dramatic effect. A chef’s kitchen comes with plenty of cabinet space, a large island for gatherings or a quick meal, and high-end appliances.
The master suite features a huge walk-in closet, soaking tub, and shower with a built-in bench.
The lower level is where you’ll find an upscale man cave complete with a glass case custom-built to showcase sports memorabilia. Other notable features include a full bar, fireplace, home theater, and a second living area. Listing photos also show a custom pool table covered with Tennessee Orange felt.
Adjacent to the man cave is a covered outdoor sitting area with a stone fireplace.
The backyard is described as “paradise” and offers a bar, fire pit, and screened porch with views of the pool and spa. This area was designed for entertaining large groups—like, say, a football team’s coaching staff.
The home’s within walking distance to Duncan’s Boat Dock, perfect for cruising the Tennessee River.
Jones, 52, currently serves as a special assistant to coach Nick Saban at the University of Alabama. Before taking the Vols job in 2013, Jones was the head football coach at Central Michigan and the University of Cincinnati. He coached Tennessee for five seasons, before being ousted in the middle of the 2017 season.
